To become a trusted ally for your clients or prospects, you’ll want to follow up regularly.
Following up begins with the mindset of — put yourself in your prospect’s shoes. What are their needs? When you focus on your client’s needs, you’re building authentic relationships.
Remember — What’s most meaningful to THEM? How can you serve? What problems can you solve?
Here are three mor follow-up tips to grow your business.. (Read my prior post to get the first three tips.)
TIP #4: Provide Expert Advice Through A Newsletter. (OR — Serve as an editor of a business newsletter to keep people updated on relevant news.). As the former editor for “Around the Water Cooler,” an online newsletter through Independent Writers of Chicago, I regularly interviewed thought leaders in our writing community. The newsletter was sent out to members, and I also shared it with those who wanted guidance. What news can you share regularly with your tribe?
TIP #5: Connect On Social Media. You’ve got a easy way to build relationships on social media platforms. Note: Social media posts are not just for YOU to tout your ideas, activities and latest achievements. It’s also a place to find others. You’ll want to comment, like and share OTHER POSTS. By doing that, you’ll get noticed. People will appreciate that you took the time to recognize them personally.
TIP #6: Make A Referral To THEM. Review your list of contacts and prospects, and find someone who you can make a referral to. Do it simply for someone else. No gain for you. It can be a potential client or a resource. Show someone you’re willing to give without receiving anything in return. The result? That person will be more inclined to help you in the future too.
Whatever you do — keep persevering.
When you follow up with kindness, people will appreciate that you’re thinking of them.
Here’s to your success!
Warmly,
Lynn Sanders
